Butthole Surfers - S/T 10” 45 RPM (1993)

Ok, how do I start this?  This is a band that, without their presence in my life, I would not be here today. I have had the great pleasure of getting to hang out with them several times, either backstage at their shows or on their tour bus in recent years. It’s sad to say that since I have gone down the path of motherhood I will never get to do things like that again, which is fine because I would rather be here than where I was in my life then. At least I got to meet and hang out with some cool people. I don’t know how my daughter could top that when she gets older, but no matter what I do it will be lame to her.

Now I live out my normal days disconnected from my past, despite my once in a while communications with old friends here and there.

Now, to this 45 rpm. It contains singles from Independent Worm Saloon, I don’t know about many of you, but the first time I heard that CD was back in 94 and I became obsessed with them. I was a short little skater girl with an undercut and a Butthole Surfers shirt cruising on down the road.

The record sadly was a little messed up on side 1 which was ok since it was just “Chewin’ on George Lucas’ Chocolate” , “Goofy’s Concern” and “Beat the Press” which just sounds like the song, “clean it up” off of IWS. The flip side is where we find BHS Gold,  With the two very rare songs “Ghandi” and “Nee Nee.” Both of these amazing tracks could send you into a trance of self reflection and minor chords.

If you don’t know BHS, then you are missing out on some amazing music.
